Miles of Love is a volunteer-ran organization. We rely on foster homes to take in dogs while they wait for their forever homes. This limits the amount of dogs we can take in at a time, but we are here to help where we can. We will do our best to process each form we receive, but please remember all of our volunteers work full time jobs and have families, so we may not be able to help with all requests we receive.

Choosing to re-home a dog can be an incredibly difficult decision. We know that sometimes it’s just not possible to keep a pet. If you need to give up your dog, here are a few options to consider:

  • Give yourself time to re-home your dog, sometimes it can take weeks or months to find it the best home. We can not always take in every dog we’re asked to take, but we are happy to do a courtesy post on our Facebook page if the owner wishes.
-Their phone number will be posted publicly on social media.

  • Have your dog up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered. This will help reduce over population and allow shelters and rescues to place your dog up for adoption quicker.

  • Spread the word on social media and ask family, friends, co-workers, etc. to help, they may know someone looking for a new dog.

  • Contact breed specific rescues and shelters near your area.
-You may need to travel to find the right placement for your dog-
