Found on the road south of Mandan this little guy had a rough few weeks while he got healthy but is now happy, healthy and almost ready for his furever home.
Possible border collie mix, estimated 12-14 weeks old, male, vaccinated and chipped and will be fixed Tuesday, June 25 then ready to take on the world with a new family.
As with most herding breeds he is mouthy and we are working on it. He has gotten more energetic and playful this past week but is pretty chill for a puppy, but he IS STILL A PUPPY shoes and the broom are his favorite non toy items to entertain himself
He is doing amazing at potty training, but is a work in progress. Very few accidents if taken out as a puppy should be and keeps a clean crate but does ask to go out once a night yet and is still working on alerting to go out when not in his crate.
Doesn’t love the crate and is vocal about it for a bit after you leave, wouldn’t recommend for an apartment setting at this time. He crates well at night when next to his foster’s bed though and knows that’s where he gets his good bully stick.
Very treat motivated and smart. Working on basic commands and recall has been fun with him, he is very eager to please.
He is fostered with other dogs and a cat. He tries to play with the cat but doesn’t want to eat him! They are the same size he 100% thinks the cat is a puppy. Has met the neighbor kids and loves them but is still using his mouth in play a lot so would need to be supervised with young kids
He prefers to be with his humans and is his foster’s shadow. He does well in the car but has gotten carsick a few times so would recommend short rides until he gets used to to. He loves getting pup cups!
He has mastered squeaky toys and loves hooves and bully sticks and soft blankets.
His favorite time of day is after being let out in the morning and coming back in for some cuddles and pets in the humans bed.
