Kurtis
Kurtis is approximately 2.5 years old, under 20 pounds, and a Chihuahua mixed with a little bit of.. well, literally everything according to her DNA test She’s a sweet little lady with just the right amount of Chihuahua sass.
When meeting new people, Kurtis likes to announce their arrival with a few barks, but once you approach her, the tough-girl act disappears and she’s ready for all the pets. Her favorite place is curled up in a lap, soaking up as much attention as possible.
She is currently fostered with children, 5 & 7 years old, and does great with them. She’s also met what feels like every kid in the neighborhood and has done well with all of them too.
Kurtis does well with other dogs, but she can be a little dramatic during first introductions. She may bark or snarl at a new dog initially, so slow introductions are best. Once she has time to settle in and realize everyone can coexist, she does well. She has not been around cats in our care.
She is potty trained, knows “kennel,” and has perfected the art of relaxation. Kurtis LOVES sunbathing and we’re pretty sure that’s how she recharges her tiny Chihuahua battery.
When she isn’t lounging in the sun or stealing someone’s lap, she enjoys performing surgery on stuffed toys by removing the stuffing and squeakers and occasionally “burying” her treasures somewhere for safekeeping.
Kurtis is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
If you’re looking for a little lap dog with a big personality, a love for sunshine, and absolutely no respect for the structural integrity of stuffed toys, Kurtis might be your girl.
