Meet Bo, Bobo, Bowie

He is a 16-month-old Australian cattle dog mixed with Australian shepherd (AKA a Red Heeler or Texas Heeler) who loves to showcase his natural herding instincts.

Bo is roughly 35-40 lbs and stands approximately 18-24 inches at the shoulder.

Bo would do best in a home with another dog that is close to his size or bigger and can match his energy when it comes to play time, and a yard to run in.

Bo can read a room and if the room is calm Bo is calm, he will curl up on the couch or his bed and sleep the day away.

He does chase cats but not in an aggressive way and he is a big baby if one stands their ground and doesn’t run from him.

Bo can be easily redirected from the cats with a stern “leave it” command.

He loves to sleep in the bed with his people and is not a bed hog. We don’t even notice he’s with us until he tries to steal a pillow spot.

Bo has been around young children and does great with them. However, he still jumps up when he’s excited so occasionally the littles get knocked over.

Bo still has some work to do on his training and house manners, but he is very smart and with time and reinforcement he will learn to mind the rules. As of current he knows sit, come, kennel, go to bed, and leave it.

His bad habits are jumping up when excited, counter surfing, and mouthing (typical cattle dog behavior). He also knows how to use a dog door and is potty trained.

Things Bo loves:
Snuggling in bed (big fan of sleeping on your pillows)
Playing with other dogs bigger than himself
Getting his ball
Being a couch potato between play and fetch sessions
Chasing kitties (not in an aggressive way, he just wants to herd them)

Things Bo does not love:
The kennel
Sharing his food bowl (not food aggressive towards people but guards his food against other animals, would recommend feeding him separately if others are in the home)

Bo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped

A natural-born herder, he combines the intelligence of his Australian Cattle Dog and Australian Shepherd ancestry with an affectionate, loyal personality. Whether he's running through the yard, eagerly fetching toys, or cuddling up for some downtime, Bo is always ready for action or affection. His playful spirit and devotion to his family make him the ultimate companion for any adventure.
